Description

Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor at our Home Office location in downtown Saskatoon, the Senior Logistics Associate is responsible for the following:

-Maintain system rates and routing for all inbound movement of stock products.

-Request rate proposals from the carrier industry for freight movement and ensure the use of the most cost-effective method of handling for the CRS.

-Work with regions and commodity departments to organize various distributions of product.

-Assist the commodity departments to ensure product movement inter-regionally is handled as expected.

-Audit all company paid freight invoices making necessary adjustments and initiating claims as required.

-Work closely with all carriers to ensure freight terms are met.

-Assist in file maintenance of the company Transportation of Dangerous Goods program.

-Other duties as assigned.

In order to qualify for this position, the successful candidate must possess a high school education, plus a minimum of either three (3) CITT courses (Transportation Systems, Logistics Processes, and one CITT elective), or four (4) classes from the Business Administration Certificate program (or equivalents). Completion of the CITT program or the Business Administration Certificate (or equivalents) would be preferred. In addition, candidates must possess a minimum of two years of related freight or dispatch experience.
