JOB DESCRIPTION: Permanent Full Time Farm/Ranch-Hands
Work to begin immediately. We are currently seeking a husband and wife team (children welcome) to assist with cattle and farming operation in Southern Saskatchewan (Rockglen area). Employment will be year-round and long-term (2-5 year minimum)
Primary JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Building & Carpentry skills, you will be required to:
Comply with Provincial Builders Codes & Standards, preference given to applicants who hold valid Journeyman Carpentry Certificate.
Restore and/or build new livestock handling facilities
Complete garage and basement living space in primary dwelling home.
Repair of Cement foundations as required.
Work independently but also with others with your tools, machines and materials supplied.
- Ranch and farming duties:
fence & corral building and maintenance
haying, tilling, seeding and harvesting
large and small equipment and vehicle up-keep and maintenance
assistance in caring for 300 400 head cow/calf beef cattle herd in the maintaining of good herd health, pasturing, feeding, calving, etc.)
Secondary JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Assist with house-keeping and home maintenance duties.
Experience in baking and home-made meal preparations.
Assist in yard maintenance and garden up-keep, harvest & preserving.
Other qualifications:
- Honest, trustworthy, reliable and pleasant manner.
- Able to work independently, as well as with others.
- Valid drivers license. Non-smokers.
- Successful applicants must supply three references. These references will be contacted.
