This is a home-based, outreach program working with vulnerable fathers and their children. Using a positive, strength-based approach, the Support worker will mentor parents to build their skills in maintaining a healthy home. Parents may need assistance learning housekeeping, learning household chores budgeting, meal preparation, developing routines, making and keeping appointments, or connecting with other services in the community. The Support Worker will also work with fathers to establish and maintain healthy relationships with other parents.Evening support groups and teaching sessions will compliment this role.
The successful candidate will have experience as a father, have teaching experience, would take direction well; have an outgoing personality, positive attitude and high energy. Must enjoy working with vulnerable citizens using a strength-based approach and be comfortable in client homes. An ability to write reports and compile stats would also be an asset.
