Senior Estimator
Responsibilities:
Conduct quantity take-offs for tender verification
Develop the planning & scheduling to ensure that bids are set on realistic goals
Review project bids with manager(s) prior to submittal of bid and ensure that final bid is tendered on time
Liaise with Project personnel as work progresses
Track progress of project, assist with additional pricing
Supervise preparation of all sub-contracts to ensure timely and accurate contract administration
Participate in "Project Hand-off" meeting with operations (includes distribution of approved drawings and specifications)
Have a complete understanding of relevant project specifications
Ensure each project has the proper contractual arrangement (i.e. indemnification agreement, purchase order)
Experience / Qualifications
A university degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and/or minimum of 5 years estimating experience in civil construction (Mechanical experience an asset)
In-depth knowledge of estimating software
Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong communication, negotiation skills
