This position focuses on the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of new donors who have the potential to give major gifts. Your work and your passion will inspire individuals and organizations to engage in our community initiatives as long term major gift investors. This key position on the Resource Development team must work collaboratively with all staff positions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop new relationships with individuals and organizations identified as potential significant major donors
Build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with our current major gift donors both individuals and organizations
Solicit major gifts to achieve annual revenue targets.
Create annual account plans and action steps needed to engage major gift accounts on a year round basis.
Drive the execution of their plan and manage the action steps and results from these efforts. Provide regular activity status, update projections to target and conduct the appropriate account analysis to build and refine business goals
Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to successfully deploy your time and United Way resources / volunteer time against revenue objectives.
Maintain accurate and detailed donor and account records to analyze the effectiveness of the plan against delivering objectives
Create direct lines of sight for our major donors connecting the impact of their investments to the achievement of the shared community goals of our investment strategy.
Create outstanding donor events and experiences.
Ensure commitments of accountability and reporting to major donors are properly fulfilled.
Develop, motivate and manage a key group of volunteers to assist you in the accomplishment of your work.
Foster creative thinking and facilitate future partnerships within the major gift accounts.
Connect donors directly to our Community Impact work to increase support of United Way.
