Description

Under the direction of the Deputy Regional Accounting Manager, the NPP Base Accounting manager plans, organizes, and manages the delivery of accounting services and programs. She/He manages employees and provides accounting control over NPP assets and liabilities. The NPP Base Accounting Manager interprets operating results for NPP entities and makes specific recommendations designed to adapt to potential adverse trends or changes in NPP operations. She/He prepares and reviews financial information for financial statements, including written and oral briefs to senior management, or at meetings as requested by senior management. Provides advice and interpretation on Non Public Property (NPP) administrative policies to managers and senior military officers. She/He manages public and non-public budgets.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field AND some years of experience in accounting or in a related field
* OR
* College diploma or certificate in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related field AND several years of experience in accounting, or in a related field
* AND
* Accounting designation such as Certified General Accountant (CGA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Chartered Accountant (CA), an asset

Language Requirement: English Mandatory
Experience Requirements:
* In planning, organizing, and delivering accounting services
* In providing finance and accounting related advice to managers
* In applying and interpreting policies, procedures and provincial/federal legislation
* In personnel administration
* In budget administration
* In planning and conducting presentations
* In the preparation of financial statements and analysis
* In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail, and Internet browsing
