Description

PROGRAM ASSISTANT, LEVEL 5
COMPETITION # NLC-015-050
TERM - Aug. 4, 2015 to Sept. 30, 2015.
Northlands College is a leading employer in northern Saskatchewan for both instructional and non-instructional jobs and careers. We have campuses in various communities across the north and have built strong partnerships with agencies and institutions to provide well-rounded programs and courses.

The Program Assistant is an administrative support position reporting to the Manager of University Programming or designate. The incumbent is primarily responsible for providing assistance in planning, organizing, delivering and evaluating programs in an assigned area.  The Program Assistant may act as a liaison between coordinators and the instructors, administrative office, funding agencies, and community.  Some clerical support work is required and occasional travel may be necessary.

The minimum qualifications/requirements for this position are a relevant one-year post-secondary certificate or equivalent with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.  The successful candidate must be prepared to schedule hours of work according to the demands of the position which may include occasional evenings and weekends (i.e. field hours scheduled by the supervisor) and must be willing to travel occasionally including overnight stays, air travel, and travel on gravel roads.  The successful candidate must also have proven organizational skills that allow handling multiple projects at the same time while ensuring that assigned details are dealt with in a timely fashion, effective time management skills, and the ability to prioritize work.
We thank all candidates who apply; however only those short-listed for an interview will be contacted. A criminal record check will be required prior to hire. Northlands College has excellent benefits and an approved Employment Equity Plan. Applicants of Aboriginal ancestry, as well as individuals in other equity groups are encouraged to apply.
