Description

The Visitor Services Branch of the Saskatchewan Legislative Assembly is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to work as a part-time Information Officer, Bilingual (English/French) for the period of September 21, 2015 to May 15, 2016.
Information Officers welcome visitors to the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and provide information and/or respond to a wide range of political, historical and community-related inquiries. On a regularly scheduled basis, they conduct factual, informative and historical tours of the Legislative Building in either English or French.  Information officers also perform a variety of general office duties, assist with official ceremonies at the Legislative Building and actively participate in projects initiated through the Visitor Services Branch.

Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in both English and French.  Knowledge of Canadian and Saskatchewan history, and of the parliamentary tradition, typically obtained through completion of one year of university or equivalent, is required. Information officers must demonstrate professionalism through sound judgment, adaptability, discretion and flexibility. They must also be an enthusiastic people person, possess strong interpersonal skills and work well independently or as part of a team.  
This position offers part-time hours for training purposes and casual weekend shifts from September 21, 2015 to May 15, 2016 with the possibility of full time hours beginning May 14, 2016 to September 5, 2016.  The salary is paid at an hourly wage in the range of $18.023-$22.587.  Selected candidates must be available for an in-person interview.  

Employees of the Legislative Assembly provide non-partisan service to all Members of the Legislative Assembly and the visiting public.
