Description

the Contract Administrator is responsible for managing all contracts and related documents between DMC Mining Services and the client.  the Contracts Administrator will report administratively to the Project Manager and may be assigned functional reporting to the same or an internal client or project group as required.  he or she will work independently on specific large projects or contracts as assigned, as well support, participate and lead in process definition and general improvements as related to contract administration.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / Commerce, Business Administration, or Law
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in Contract Administration
- Technical background or demonstrated understanding of enginering, mining and/or construction contracts is an asset
- Sound knowledge of ethical contract administration and business practices.  Displays sound judgement to identify and resolve disputes according to contractural requirements
- Strong analytical, business and negotiation skills are required to manage adherence to contractual requirements and to negotiate settlements to disputes
- Experience in administering contracts related to construction/design/build within plan operations settings
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in applying commercial and contractual formats and specific terms and conditions
- Must be able to work independently, establishing priorities and meeting conflicting requirement deadlines
- Willingness to devote additional/extended hours and work under pressure
- Must have a proven capability to lead others through influence rather than authority
- Must have excellent communication skills and relationship-development skills, along with strong negotiator skills
- The incumbent must be able to read and have a deep understanding of both conventional text and legal terminology and documentation
