Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications an employee in this job will provide communication support and expertise for projects or assignments of varying complexity. Working within a multi-disciplinary team based environment, work will focus on developing and implementing corporate wide communication processes utilizing a variety of tools to ensure employees, the public, and stakeholders are provided with timely, accurate up-to-date information specific to corporate strategic direction, vision and any issues that may arise. In addition, this employee will provide lead Communications support to the Corporate Culture Initiative and Corporate Intranet redevelopment and maintenance.
An employee in this position will have working knowledge of the concepts, principles, and methodologies of journalism and public relations; internal communications and of publication design and layout including desktop publishing. They will have the ability to research a variety of topics and to prepare and complete accurate reports and other documentation of varying complexity.
The successful candidate will possess a Degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations or other similar discipline, 3 years related experience, and will have, or the ability to obtain and maintain membership with the International Association of Business Communicators or the Canadian Public Relations Society.
