Description

The Natawihin-Nakasuwenik Clinic, a University-affiliated six-physician medical practice, requires the services of a Medical Billing Clerk.  This position will be responsible for the delivery of billing for physicians in Ile a la Crosse, Beauval, Buffalo Narrows, Patuanak, St. Georges Hill, Michel Village, Dillon, Black Lake, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, La Loche and Pelican Narrows.  The position also provides on-site assistance to physicians pertaining to proper billing of services, assists in front office clerk duties, and other duties as assigned. The hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.  

The Natawihin-Nakasuwenik Clinic provides a spectrum of medical services from prevention and primary care through to itinerant specialists with access to secondary and tertiary services, as well as remote training for Family Medicine Residents and medical students.

Education/Experience:  Minimum Grade 12 education. A Medical Office Assistant Program is preferred.  Medical Terminology would be considered an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  Ability to work well in a team approach.  Keen attention to accuracy and attention to detail, understanding the importance of confidentiality and professionalism, and the ability to learn quickly and to work efficiently. Excellent communication and organization skills are essential.  Computer skills (Excel, Word, CBS, etc.).  A valid drivers license would be considered an asset.
