The Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan (ASOS) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of people affected by Alzheimers disease and related dementias. ASOS is currently recruiting an ambitious and result-oriented individual to work as a permanent part-time Communications and Marketing Coordinator.
Role
Reporting to the Communications & Marketing Manager (CMM), the Communications & Marketing Coordinator (CMC) supports the effective implementation of the Societys programs, services and education marketing and communications. The CMC produces communications materials that support the Alzheimer Societys programs, events and campaigns, including print, e-communications, website, social media, audio visual, and media materials. The successful candidate will have experience in the not-for-profit sector, and above all will be passionate about the Societys cause.
Additionally you will have the following key attributes and qualifications:
Post-secondary education in marketing, public relations or communications, or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 or more years experience in communications and marketing
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to write and edit a wide variety of audience-targeted materials
Ability to take direction and work independently, while also being part of a team effort
A thorough understanding and proven experience with social media platforms and strategies
Strong and critical attention to detail
Proficiency in computer software including Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite and databases
Media relations experience
Manages projects under pressure in a fast-paced and deadline-driven work environment
Some evening and weekend work is required. Flexibility with regards to scheduling is expected.
Non-profit experience and knowledge of Alzheimers disease are assets
