Manager, Northern Affairs

POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The corporate responsibility and communications department (CR&C) leads communications, community investment, government relations and corporate responsibility functions at Cameco to build the trust and support of stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead Camecos northern affairs initiatives in Saskatchewans northern communities.
You will lead in the development, management and support of Camecos northern community relations strategy. You will work with communities to develop and maintain collaborative agreements in support of Camecos five-pillar corporate social responsibility strategy. You will work to maintain Camecos strong public support in northern Saskatchewan by interacting with and conducting regular visits to all northern impact communities, supporting workforce development initiatives, and working collaboratively with northern organizations including schools and training institutions. You will work closely with the Athabasca Working Group (AWG) to support the Impact Management Agreement and other projects and initiatives as required.
You will also coach, supervise and oversee the activities of five community relations liaisons.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in education, business administration, public administration or a related field
Ten or more years relevant work experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Experience in community based work such as education, economic development, recreation, health or social work
Experience collaborating with multiple parties on projects and group initiatives
Previous experience in a leadership capacity
Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewans North
Ability to travel regularly
