Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accounting Administrator will be responsible for maintaining files and records of employer partnerships in a confidential manner; ensuring that all relevant program policies and agreements are being adhered to; liaising with Institute staff to ensure client payroll records are submitted and processed in a timely and accurate fashion; keeping up-to-date and accurate data of clients within the Great Plains Accounting System; ensuring quality client service; completing quarterly claims and reports for federal and provincial program partners; working collaboratively with accounting staff and other Institute employees to ensure performance targets are being met; developing and managing purchase orders; and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or an Accounting/Business Certificate or Diploma; a combination of relevant experience and course completion would be considered; experience with computerized accounting software is a requisite; knowledge of the Great Plains Accounting System would be a definite asset; a high skill level operating all programs within the MicroSoft Office Suite is a necessity; the ability to multi-task, solve problems, meet deadlines, work independently and as an effective member of a team; and will possess strong organizational and computer skills. A good working knowledge of the Metis community is a significant asset.
