Job Description: GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Athabasca Health Authority is seeking the services of a Speech Language Pathologist for one (1) week per month in the Athabasca Basin. The Speech Language Pathologist will assess, develop, provide and monitor individual treatment plans for infants and preschoolers up to age five who have various levels of speech, language, communication and swallowing problems. The Speech Language Pathologist works in collaboration with the childs family/guardian, preschool/school, social worker and other health care professionals.
This is a community based position requiring travel throughout the Athabasca Basin.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
Current licensure with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (SASLPA).
A minimum of two years of clinical experience in the development, delivery and coordination of Speech Language Pathology treatment program plans for children, youth and adults.
Current Certificate Level C, Basic Cardiac Life Support.
Knowledge of the Dene language would be considered an asset.
Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
Clear Criminal Record.
Please Note: This is an independent service contract position ending March 31, 2016. Contracts are assessed and renewed on an annual basis.
