Description

Basic Purpose:
Oversee and carry out planning, implementation of process improvements, and Lean project initiatives that will increase production efficiencies, in accordance with the short-term needs and long term goals of Bourgault Industries Ltd

Duties:  
-    Manage projects aimed at improving process flow while optimizing space, quality, safety, and ergonomics
-    To develop, maintain, and support a Continuous Improvement culture using Lean tools focusing on the elimination of waste while striving to provide increased value to our customers, both internal and external
-    Gauge performance of value streams, identify bottlenecks and suggest/implement changes as required
-    Design processes or tooling to improve safety, quality, productivity or cost issues for the value streams
-    Guide and perform analysis for capacity planning, cost reduction, and process control
-    Research industry best practices and make recommendations to leadership group
-    Provides technical leadership/assistance, guidance and mentoring as needed to other Engineers regarding best practices and lean principles
-    Capture innovations, lessons learned and successes on projects and share them for the wider good of others
-    Conducts value stream mapping and process mapping
-    Develop and document standard work, including work methods, cell layouts and value stream layouts

Skills & Knowledge Required:
-    Engineering degree
-    In-depth understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
-    Strong organizational and project management skills
-    Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
-    Strong trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
-    High degree of analytical thought and creativity
-    3D CAD experience (Solidworks preferred)
-    Strong computer skills
-    Experience with ERP software
