Smokehaus Meats and Deli Inc (See http://www.smokehaus.ca ) located at 421 Centennial Drive N. Martensville, Saskatchewan has an opening for a full time and permanent retail butcher.
Duties
Cut, trim, and otherwise prepare standard cuts of beef, pork, poultry, and fish for sale at counters or according to customers' orders
Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
Prepare special displays of beef, pork, poultry, and fish
Shape, lace and tie roasts and other meats, poultry or fish and may wrap prepared meats.
Manage inventory, keep records of sales and determine amount, product line and freshness of products according to company and customer requirements
Ensure food storage conditions are adequate
Will supervise other meat cutters
Must have experience in different cuts and cutting meat according the needs of clients
Experience in wild game cutting an asset
Employment requirements (Education, Skills, etc)
Completion of secondary school
Completion of a college or other meat-and-fish-cutting training program, or a three-year meat cutting apprenticeship is required.
Must have excellent people skills
Previous experience in dealing with customers in a high-end butchery will be considered a big asset
Personal hygiene important
Must have ability to learn and accept different cuts as required by customers
Wages
CAD $22.00 per hour depending on experience and abilities
Annual vacation of 3 weeks
Overtime of time-and-a-half after 40 hours per week
