Mellor Law Firm Prof Corp, a full service law firm is seeking a Legal Assistant in the Regina office. You will be assisting the lawyer and clients as they work through legal proceedings, including providing assistance with document preparation and administrative functions. This position involves working under tight time schedules and on numerous files at any given time.
The ideal candidate must possess excellent technical and administrative skills; have the ability to prioritize and expedite workflow; possess the ability to handle changing priorities; and be extremely organized.
Your required skills and knowledge include
- Handling and prioritizing workload independently, preparing monthly professional services invoices, correspondence, and other documents using Microsoft Word, finalizing legal documents; fielding and attending to telephone inquiries, and acting as a liaison between client and lawyer
- Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers, other team members, and clients
- Posses strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Exercise independent judgment and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
To be successful in the role, you have:
- Advanced PC skills, particularly with Microsoft office and Outlook along with the ability to learn other firm-specific software
- Excellent proofreading skills
- Knowledge of ESILAW would be an asset
- The ability to work independently, follow instructions with minimal supervision and take initiative
- A willingness to learn
