Description

The Travelodge Hotel & Conference Centre Regina is seeking a highly motivated Building Maintenance Manager to lead its building operations to support its continued success.  Reporting to the General Manager, the Building Maintenance Manager will oversee the hotel and conference facilities in a condition of operating excellence, cleanliness and safety.  As an integral member of the management team this position is expected to lead a crew of six maintenance personnel whose major responsibilities are to provide a clean, safe, attractive, comfortable and efficient facility.  In collaboration with the General Manager, the incumbent will establish and recommend priorities on repair projects and provide cost estimations of such repairs.

To be successful in the role candidates must have orientation towards customer service, excellent project management and organizational skills; an ability to work independently, identify and solve problems, set priorities and develop long range plans; read and interpret blue prints, plans and specifications.  The incumbent must have working knowledge of computers, building and grounds maintenance, and all building trades including: heating, air conditioning, electrical lighting and motors, plumbing, painting, and carpentry.  Knowledge of applicable building maintenance and repair including mechanical equipment is required and a Power-Engineering/Firemans Certification is considered an asset.  This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, some evenings and weekends.
