Description

Regina Youth for Christ is a Christian mission organization that impacts over 6,000 youth every year in Saskatchewan. RYFC runs 5 group homes as well as several community and school outreach programs in Regina, Moose Jaw and the Battlefords. As a missions organization, Regina Youth For Christ requires all staff to be in agreement with their Statement of Faith and agree to fundraise a portion of their salary every year.

There is a current ministry opportunity open for a full time Youth Care Leader in our Battleford group home. This position provides an opportunity to work hands-on with youth ages 12-17 in a group home setting. It is ideal for a person who is people-focused, responsible and has a passion for guiding young people. The right candidate will be experienced and/or educated in working with youth or young adults in a supportive environment.

Overview:

Assessing and Planning
- Ability to support a youth's case plan
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Ability to create a consistent evening and morning routine
- Ability to communicate professionally to support agencies

Relationship building and Support
- Ability to build trusted relationships with youth
- Ability to motivate and empower youth towards success
- Ability to support youth in problem solving and behavior choices
- Assist youth to create and meet goals
- Provide behavioural support
- Support youth with any day-to-day activity that they may require support with

Overseeing and Guiding
- Ability to track and measure a youth's success
- Ability to redirect or apply consequences to a youth's choices
- Ability to hold a youth accountable for their choices
- Ability to set and maintain healthy, professional boundaries
