The Sandman Hotel Saskatoon, located at 310 Circle Drive West, Saskatoon, SK, is currently recruiting for the position of BANQUET CAPTAIN who will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the banquet operations in the absence of the Banquet Manager. This includes, but is not limited to, administration, sales, BEO (Banquet Event Order) creation and operations leadership.

You understand the dynamics of Banquet and Catering Services and can drive sales and guest satisfaction. Successful, organized and creative weddings, business functions, and special event banquet services are your passion.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To assist the Group Food & Beverage Manager in the following:
Be organized, efficient and consistently provide excellent service for all groups, teams and tours.
Assist with managing/controlling food costs, labour cost and variable costs.
Assist with sales and marketing banquet facilities and services.
Management and Leadership skills to mentor, motivate and develop of staff through training and example,
Training and enforcing company policies and procedures.
Problem solving and decision making.
Show initiative, high energy, enthusiasm and drive.
Excellent Communication skills, administrative skills, and adaptability and flexibility.
Professional grooming and appearance, professional demeanor, present a positive Company image.
Dependable and reliable with excellent attendance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Able to handle high volume, fast paced work environment.
Able to work within tight deadlines.
Have a minimum of 2 years of supervision.
Possess Serving it Right and Food Safe Certification.
Preferable to hold Hospitality Certification from a recognized school or college.
Must have 2 3 years catering experience.
