David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client, to recruit a Senior Electrical Project Manager Lead, based in Saskatoon.  

Our client has an immediate opening for a permanent, full time Senior Electrical Project Manager Lead. The primary function of this position is to design and support custom electrical products for the industrial sector (esp. Potash Mining).

The Role:

Designing unique custom products for the mining and resource industries;
Ensuring safety throughout design and production stages;
Providing senior reviews and checks for Custom Product designs;
Interfacing with customers and understanding their individual requirements;
Increasing the capability and performance of our EITs, Junior Engineers and technical personnel through mentoring and performance feedback;
Troubleshooting technical problems in-person, over the phone and / or by email;
Design new and unique products for customers in a variety of industrial applications and sectors.

The Ideal Candidate:

Four-year Electrical Engineering Degree;
Eligibility to Register as a P.Eng. in the Province of Saskatchewan;
At least eight (8) years of experience in electrical design of mine power systems, including 5kV and 15kV distribution, 600V and 5kV MCCs, automation and control.
Experience with 25kV and 34.5kV systems is advantageous;
Experience in the mining industry, particularly potash mines;
Oil Sands and Oil & Gas experience will be considered an asset;
Project management experience in leading mid-sized projects;
High level of attention-to-detail and effective time management skills;
Good communication skills, both verbal and written;
Ability to work with hand tools, multi-meters, dielectric test units, voltage and current sources, and meggers;
A desire to provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members.
