Description

Under the Supervision of the kihiw waciston Principal, the Day Care worker will perform a variety of duties. The successful candidates will possess a variety of skills and proven abilities working in the area of early childhood development. You will be responsible for working with the staff of the Day Care centre and the activities of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Community Day Care initiative. The position entails working collaboratively with Day Care staff, families, and management through planning daily programs, working with small groups, assisting with clerical duties as required and working with the Day Care Unit on extracurricular activities.

Main duties:
-Develop, implement and lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth in children.
-Guide and assist in the development of proper eating, dressing, communications and hygiene habits
-Willing to become actively involved in the community
-Leading children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth.

The successful candidate will possess the following:
-Proven written verbal and written skills
-Must obtain a CPIC clearance
-Ability to prepare nutritious meals and snacks
-Be in good health
-Be living a drug free lifestyle
-Completion of Early Childhood programs would be an asset

Preference will be given to candidates who have an understanding of Cree communities and culture.
Preference will also be given to candidate who has experience working with children (Child) with Special Needs.
