Under the Supervision of the kihiw waciston Principal, the Day Care Director will perform a variety of duties. The successful candidates will possess a variety of skills and proven abilities working in the area of early childhood development. You will be responsible for working with and supervising the staff of the Day Care centre and the activities of the MLCN Community Day Care initiative. The position entails working collaboratively with Day Care staff, families, and management through planning daily programs, working with small groups, with clerical duties as required and working with the Day Care Unit on extracurricular activities.
Preference will be given to candidates who have an understanding of Cree communities and culture.
Preference will also be given to candidate who has experience working with children (Child) with Special Needs.
The successful candidate will possess the following:
-Proven written verbal and written skills
-Must obtain a CPIC clearance
-Ability to prepare nutritious meals and snacks
-Be in good health
-Be living a drug free lifestyle
-Early Childhood Diploma Knowledge in the principles and procedures of the Play and Exploration Guide
-Demonstrated knowledge of computer programs for collection of daycare fees, record keeping & monthly reports
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
-Ensure the day care operation is in accordance with the Child Care regulations 2001 and Child Care Act
-Ensure and carry out the Policies and Procedures of the MLCN Day Care
-Management of all staff, students and volunteers
-Organize staff schedules
-Collection and recordkeeping of lees
-Submit monthly reports to the MLCN Education committee and attendance reports to STC
-Maintain confidentiality of all families and staff at the day care
-Develop. implement and lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth in children.
