Description

The Maternal Mental Health Implementation Committee is offering a Postpartum Support Group and looking to contract a group facilitator in the community of Moose Jaw.

Hours:         2 hours per week (1 1/2 hours group facilitation, 1/2 hour preparation)

Summary of Position:
Will coordinate and facilitate the Postpartum Support Group of Moose Jaw and will have knowledge and understanding of postpartum depression issues.
Will work under the direction of the Maternal Mental Health Implementation Committee and will consult with Mental Health and Addiction Services for group development.
Duties involve group facilitation, with minimal administrative and public education duties, 2 hours a week for 10 months, beginning September 2015.
Will act as an independent contracted facilitator, and as such will be responsible for reporting income for tax purposes, etc.
Complete application and the follow up report to the Community Initiatives Fund.

Qualifications and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of postpartum depression Issues.
Personal experience and recovery of post-partum depression is an asset.
Ability to speak in front of a group.
Ability to initiate group discussion on topics important to group members around postpartum depression.
Ability to create and maintain emotional safety with group participants.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work 2 hours a week.
