The Town of Fort Qu'Appelle is a growing community of 2000 people located in the beautiful Qu'Appelle Valley in the Calling Lakes District. Home to four fresh water lakes, many recreational programs, and other year round activities. Located 45 minutes east of Regina.

Description:
The Community Planning and Development Coordinator is responsible for facilitating, promoting, and ensuring community planning and development.

Duties:
This position is required to work pro-actively with Town Council member and staff to develop long term plans for land use.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Conduct investigations to verify and satisfy appropriate legislative and regulatory provisions
2. Review and research zoning issues related to development
3. Issue written and verbal warnings for non-compliance
4. Maintain and update information for various properties under development
5. Develops and maintains working relations with various external government agencies, related industry contractors, consultants, and rate payers
6. Interpretation and enforcement of Town Bylaws

Qualifications:
1.Completion of a two year diploma in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent from a recognized Institute of Technology or Community College or an undergrad degree in Urban Planning or related field
2. Knowledge/experience of planning terminology, practices, standards, and work methods applied within a planning environment
3. Knowledge of regulatory, advisory, and other legislative bodies related to Land Use Planning and associated policies, procedures, and regulations
4. Effective conflict resolution and investigative skills to resolve confrontational situations and efficiency in dealing with sensitive issues
5. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Ability to effectively organize and prioritise workload based on the importance to public safety and community impact
