The Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation (SPRA) is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the full-time contract position of Assistant Consultant.
This position provides support to the Association in delivery of initiatives falling under SPRAs Grants and Funding, Youth Engagement, and Physical Activity and Fitness portfolios.
Work will be carried out to meet project outcomes, while assisting members, stakeholders and parties of interest. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
- Orientation and training of Provincial Recreation Associations to new funding formats
- Administer and report on a provincial funding program to support community rinks
- Support delivery of the national ParticipACTION Teen Challenge initiative within Saskatchewan
- Support and coordination of a Youth Advisory Committee
- Support delivery of Saskatchewans Take the Lead! initiative
- Support the adjudication processes and activities for the Community Initiatives Fund (CIF) Physical Activity Grant Program
- Support the Fitness Division activities, including Fitness Certification renewals and procedures
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- A degree in Recreation Administration or diploma in Recreation, or a related field of study
- Experience in public administration, grant administration and experience working with the non-profit sector
- Knowledge of and ability to apply strategic planning, program planning and project management; the ability to perform outcome based planning and evaluation and to implement strategic directions to meet performance outcomes
- Ability to manage projects
- Knowledge and application of Microsoft Office - including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and databases
