Description

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct oneself in a Christian manner appropriate to an educational institution
Complete a yearly Catholic Formation goal in the Committed to Professional Growth document
Provide Catholic leadership in working with students and parents

Provide Support for students struggling to cope with personal and psychological issues affecting their school performance, behavior and socialization
Provide crisis intervention counselling (e.g., suspected suicidal ideation or violence)
Be the liaison with 11 and Under and the 12 and Up students at St Luke School
Through on-on-one, classroom or school-wide sessions, address issues relevant to the student population
Assist teacher and administrators in dealing with behavioral or attitude issues by working with students
Maintain case files and reports to track student problems and progress and to recognize patterns in behavior
Coordinate transition of high school students back to typical high schools

Be knowledgeable and supportive of Regina Catholic Schools policies and expectations
Provide referrals to outside agencies when appropriate
Follow crisis intervention protocol regarding child abuse, critical incidents and inter-agency involvement
Provide information for outside support services of agencies to help students and their families
Communicate effectively and efficiently with parents, teachers and administrators
Attend staff meetings
Be involved as a member of school-based teams
Participate in School Division-sponsored professional development activities
