The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking a qualified individual to staff a full time position of Settlement Support Worker in Schools- Case Worker. The start date for this position is June 22, 2015.
The Settlement Worker in Schools (SWIS) program is a shared partnership between the Regina Open Door Society (RODS), the Regina Public School Board (RPSB) Regina Catholic Schools, Conseil des Ecoles Fransaskoises and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). It is an outreach program to help newcomer students and their families settle in their school and community.
Desired qualifications/education
A Post-Secondary education or related work experience are position requirements. Additional requirements include excellent communication (oral and written), para-counseling, cross-cultural, leadership, motivational, and organizational skills. Ability to read, write and speak fluently in French would be an asset. The successful candidate will possess the skills necessary to develop the program and work cooperatively and professionally as a representative of RODS in the school setting. The successful applicant will also require a criminal record check, clean child abuse registry record, reliable vehicle, valid drivers license, and a clean driver abstract.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM. All position at RODS require a clean criminal record/child abuse registry check. There is a cost shared benefits package available to the employee with successful completion of a six-month probationary period.
