Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, Communications Department, the Publication Consultant is part of a small team of corporate Communications Department professionals committed to communications excellence in support of the strategic and operational plans of the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region (RQHR).
Working with all levels of staff, including senior management and Regional Health Authority members, the publications consultant will provide expertise in development, implementation and evaluation of the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region's corporate serial publications.
The consultant must have proven business writing skills and be able to think and operate strategically as well as operationally.

Qualifications:
The abilities for this position are typically obtained through a degree in journalism and subsequent experience as both a member of the working media and in a media relations role for at least three years.  Candidates with blended experience outside of this qualification may also be considered.
The Consultant must have the experience and credibility to supply strategic communications advice to individuals, committees, and working groups at all levels of the organization.  He/she will provide expertise in development, implementation and evaluation of communications plans and vehicles. Effective organizational and project management skills are required, as is the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Primary responsibilities include coordination of the Region's suite of corporate serial publications:  Annual Legislative Report , Annual Community Report, Health News   bi annual community publication and Elink   weekly internal publication.
