Overview
The Saskatchewan Research Councils (SRC) Energy Division has an immediate opening for a permanent, full-time Laboratory Assistant. The Laboratory Assistant will perform basic and routine tasks in SRCs Petroleum Analytical Laboratories in Regina, Saskatchewan.  

The position offers many advantages, including extensive safety training, working within a collaborative team and a comprehensive and flexible benefits plan.

Accountabilities
-Perform repetitive tasks that require patience and attention to detail
-Analyze and log samples to specific standards and methods
-Prepare reagents and standards for analysis
-Prepare supplies and/or samples for shipment to customers or subcontractors
-Assist with laboratory waste disposal
-Ensure the work area and equipment are clean and maintained
-Adhere to safety and quality control protocols and guidelines

Qualifications
-1-year certificate or 2-year diploma in science or technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. High school graduates with an aptitude in sciences will also be considered.
-Experience with laboratory instrumentation, standard operating procedures and safe work practices are an asset

Skills
-Team player with effective interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
-Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy performing data entry using Microsoft Word and Excel
-Good organizational skills with a willingness to learn

You will be required to work safely with petroleum and chemical products.
