Leading Thunderbird Lodge is looking motivated, enthusiastic individuals who have a sincere interest in working with youth:
The part-time position is responsible for working directly with the youth as follows:
- Providing supervision and participate in programming to all youth during the scheduled shift
- Providing assistance, guidance and support to meet youth needs and requests.
- Assisting with the completion of required documentation (shift logs, daily summaries, etc.)
- Assisting with meeting timelines for bedtime, morning breakfast, circle, class, etc.
- Attending staff meetings and accreditation process
- Providing supervision on scheduled activities and events
- Completing basic housekeeping chores - keeping pod offices cleaned and organized, washing towels, and other basic housekeeping chores to keep the building tidy and safe.
- Following the Program Policy as required.
Shifts include: as posted on the schedule - during the week/evenings/weekends.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Valid Driver's license is required
- A certificate in Addictions-Youth Care Worker would be an asset
- First Aid-CPR, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention would be an asset
- Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming.
Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team and ensuring the safety and well-being of all youth.
All positions will be subject to a Criminal and Vunerable Sector?s check. Knowledge of First Nations Culture and languages will be an asset.
