Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Pre-12 Program Instructor will plan, organize, and implement an instructional program and learning environment that guides and encourages learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential within the pre-12 program classroom. The intent is to provide students with the skills and dedication needed to enter into employment or into further specific educational, technical and vocational training or self-improvement.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Education Degree
Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate
Minimum of two years of teaching experience
Duties/Responsibilities
Specific duties will include a mixture of:
Instruction and Facilitation
Classroom Management
Student Assessment and Needs Identification
Resource Management
Administration
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of and a commitment to the goals and objectives of adult education and ability to adapt to and work in an adult education environment
Knowledge of ABE specific subject matter (Adult 10 courses and Adult 12/GED preparation) including:
o Mathematics - specifically the ability to instruct Math 20, Foundations 20 and Transitional Math
o Reading
o Writing
o Science
o Social Sciences
o Communications
o Life Works
o Employment and Life Skills Preparation
