The City of Weyburn is a dynamic and progressive municipality located in the heart of Southeast Saskatchewan. The City has a population of over 10,500 and a solid economic and community foundation upon which new opportunities are continuously built.
This temporary full time position of Finance Manager/City Assessor will play an integral role in the Finance Department operations. This out of scope position reports directly to the Director of Finance.
The Finance Manager/City Assessor will be responsible:
* for the supervision of a Finance Clerk and four Finance Officers;
* to assist in protecting and ensuring efficient use of the City of Weyburn financial resources;
* to assist and audit the reconciling of asset, liability, capital, income and expense account and the producing of monthly financial reports;
* to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and City of Weyburn policies and procedures;
* to manage the preparation and reconciliation of the assessment roll, assessment returns, tax rolls, and tax notices;
* to create a strong working partnership with Saskatchewan Assessment Management Agency (SAMA);
* to preserve a high level of customer service within the Finance Department;
* for other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Specific Training:
* minimum of two (2) years post-secondary education in Accounting certification with the Local Government Administration (LGA);
* certification with the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA);
* two (2) years of progressive experience in a management role;
* excellent customer service and communication skills.
Annual salary range: $64,584.00 - $77,500.80 based on experience.
