Under the supervision of the Legal Director acts as Eligibility Officer for a busy legal aid office. Responsibilities include:
- Interviews applicants to determine financial and range of service eligibility (including assessment of contributions) from an established criteria, determines if the matter may be a conflict for the office, sets appointments for professional staff, and assesses and refers unusual situations to supervisor.
- Routinely enters client case management data onto the database
- Composes and types or word processes memos, letters from general instructions or from precedents, and orders disclosure
- Provides and obtains basic information to/from the public and clients which may require some discussion
Maintains familiarity with Legal Aid Saskatchewans policies and procedures
May be assigned other related duties
