General Description

The Community Networking Coordinator will work out of the Saskatoon Indian and Metis Friendship Centre (SIMFC) and support the coordination of activities for the Saskatoon Aboriginal Professionals Association (SAPA). In addition to this coordination role this coordinator will support the work of the SIMFC .

Weekly Schedule will normally be Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with a one hour unpaid lunch break. Some evening, early morning and weekend shifts will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities


    Provide Coordination support for the Saskatoon Aboriginal Professionals Association
    Coordinate professional development and networking activities for Aboriginal students and professionals
    Building community connections and partnerships between Aboriginal organizations, Saskatoons corporate community, educational institutions, municipality and community based organizations.
    Build a communications network via word of mouth, print, and digital media to engage Aboriginal professionals and students.
    Program coordination, event facilitation, partnership and collaborative activities with the Saskatoon community and other duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

    Hold a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
    Present a current CPIC and a Vulnerable Sector Search check
    Minimum education: Some post-secondary
    Event planning experience
    Aboriginal Candidate Preferred (Please Self Identify as First Nations, Metis or Inuit)
