Description

The Trades Helper position has been established to serve as an opportunity for assessment of individuals for the purpose of establishing mobile equipment maintenance trade apprentices with the McClean Lake Mill Maintenance group. This arrangement is meant to be a term position, where once the term is up the individual is either indentured to a trade or the term is ended. The term may be extended up to a year if a longer period of assessment is needed.

Responsibilities include:  
Must have the ability to follow directions and complete tasks assigned in a safe and efficient manner.
Candidate must comply with all site procedures, work instructions and demonstrate a clear understanding of our environmental policies.
Must be willing to work with the site training group for further aptitude testing and development of essential skills as required.
It is essential the candidate demonstrate the ability to develop a strong working relationship with all site working groups.
Must demonstrate acceptable attendance
Complete all other duties as assigned.


Skills and Qualifications:
-Must possess a grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
-This person must be willing to complete the test of workplace essential skills (TOWES) with the expectation of achieving by the end of the term a score of 3/3/3 in the areas of reading comprehension, document use and numeracy.
-Excellent communication skills and good work ethic is essential.
-All previous related school or work experience will be considered
-Strong computer skills is an asset
-Experience in mining or mobile equipment is an asset.
-Preference will be given to RSN candidates

Work Location & Schedule: McClean Lake - 7 in /7 out - 77 hours/week

Pick-Up Points:    Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of Camsel Portage, Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac and Wollaston
