Description

Reporting to the Building Operations Supervisor, the Senior Building Operator is responsible for:

1.To conduct inspection and maintenance programs. Prepare maintenance work orders and review assignment with the Building Operations Supervisor. Perform repair as required to the Home Office building, heating, air conditioning and other building systems.
2.To perform all scheduled inspections, required maintenance checks, and repairs on the computer operations air conditioning, UPS and backup generator.
3.In consultation with the Building Operations Supervisor, arrange for alterations to and the movement of offices and equipment, to accommodate revised floor plans. Maintain all office furniture.
4.To purchase maintenance supplies and repairs as authorized.
5.To maintain department records of preventative maintenance, inspection reports, maintenance costs and purchasing, etc.
6.To arrange and/or perform office and related equipment repairs as required.
7.Other duties as assigned.

The successful applicant will possess a high school education, a Fourth Class Boiler Operator's Certificate (individuals holding a valid Fifth Class Certificate and are nearing completion to test for a Fourth Class Certificate may be considered with a combination of relative experience), Refrigeration Engineer's Certificate (or able to obtain), plus a minimum of three (3) years closely related experience. A Building Systems Technician Certificate would be considered an asset.

Please Note:
1.The incumbent will be required to respond to after-hour emergency call-backs.
2.The position is a day/afternoon shift.
3.Normal work week will be Monday to Friday.
