Travel will also be required to Alberta, Manitoba and British Colombia (50 vacancies) Applicants will be required to be available to work across all parts of each province when needed.  

Wage: Subject on the median wage at time of hiring.

Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training in necessary
Credentials: Lineman Trade Certification, 4th Period Apprentice
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages:  Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area:  Construction, Installation, Repair, Working at Height.
Type of Equipment:  Power line and cable, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, poles, towers and guy wires, hydraulic buckets
JOB DUTIES:  Install, repair and maintain electrical distribution and transmission systems, erect and maintain poles, towers and guy wires, inspect and test power lines and cables, adhere to safety practices and procedures.

Criminal record check.
Random Drug testing.
Driver's validity license check.
Valid driver's licence.
Willing to travel.

Equipment:  tools and steel-toed safety boots.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:
Handling heavy loads, tight deadlines, physically demanding, manual dexterity, bending, crouching and kneeling.
Work at heights and outdoors.

Work location:  rural area, remote location, various locations

Essential skills:  reading text, document use, numeracy, oral communications, working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing, finding information.

Employees will be required to work across western canada including remote areas.  A combination of 3 years experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in electrical technology will be considered.
