Description

Summary:
Reporting to the Asset Protection Manager, a Firearms Inspector is responsible for assuring that all firearms entering the store are secured in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position requires the ability to safely handle firearms and adhere to provincial, federal, and company firearms regulations. This position also requires the ability to provide legendary customer service and interact with customers in a polite, friendly manner at all times.  
Responsibilities:
Ensure each firearm that enters the retail store is properly qualified, handled, and secured in accordance with the established policies and procedures, including but not limited to qualifying the customers firearm(s), as well as using the approved bullet trap, Empty Chamber Indicators (ECIs), and trigger locks
Communicate to Gun Counter the need for a firearm to be escorted in the store
Communicate with management regarding loaded and jammed firearms
Provide a legendary customer experience by welcoming customers into the retail store in a polite, friendly manner
Effectively communicate potential customer service concerns to management regarding the safe handling of firearms to ensure the safe environment is maintained
Respond to and handle customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope
Monitor and check items leaving through the exits that set off the alarms such as, but not limited to: purchases, handbags, backpacks, etc and record in the provided logs
Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate
Qualifications:
One or more years experience  in a related field and/or service environment is preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
A Restricted and Non-Restricted Possession and Acquisition License is required
Advanced knowledge of firearm handling
Ability to use good judgment and logic
