Description

Northern Strands has provided mining, rigging and safety solutions for over 42 years.  Our client base includes the mining industry, construction industry, urban and rural municipal governments and many other industrial customers.  
Northern Strands is recruiting for a Crew Supervisor to manage our Fall Protection Installation crew. Candidates succeeding in this role would typically possess: proven leadership skills in a construction environment.

Primary Responsibilities
-Ensuring that the crew members are complying with Northern Strands policies
-Ensuring that crew members have been properly trained, and that they understand the products and services we offer. Spend regular time out at job sites overseeing the jobs.
-Promoting excellent customer service
-Taking corrective disciplinary action with crew members when necessary
-Acting as a first point of contact for onsite crews, contractors and customer representatives
-Ensuring all time and costs are properly recorded on the project documents so they can allocated to jobs
-Liaising with Project Desk to maximize manpower on the schedule.
-Ensure materials and trailer are loaded and ready for job site prior to leaving shop.
- Assist with general labor and installation of fall protection products and components, as required.
-Work within all safety regulations and standards at all times

Qualifications
-Mechanical aptitude, knowledge of power tools
-Proven supervisory skills and experience
-Ability to read drawings, understand directions and problem solve
-Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Commitment to promoting team oriented environment
-Sound knowledge and understanding of the OH&S regulations regarding working at heights
-Minimum five years experience in a similar role including commercial construction, commercial roofing or mining would be preferred
-Ability to pass a drug test and a Police Record check
