Description

Specific Tasks

Promote the Project using available community resources
Recruit and screen 20 participants for enrollment
Provide appropriate supervision to the program participants
Develop monthly program/activity schedules, recruit volunteer facilitators
Plan and implement activities ensuring that safety, learning and fun are top factors for consideration
Work independently and as part of a team
Provide leadership and guidance to the participants
Support the clients with due consideration for their unique situations
Participate in and coordinate field trips
Monitor and evaluate the project activities in line with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Funding Agreement
Prepare monthly activity report in line with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Funding Agreement
Prepare final project activities reports (statistical and narrative) in line with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Funding Agreement
Maintain a record of expenses
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Youth Program Team Leader

Required Skills:

Some Post-secondary education
Excellent communication (oral & writing) skills
Excellent leadership, organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Ability to organize and manage outdoor activities
A good understanding of the issues that affect newcomer families
Proficiency in MS Office Applications
Positive attitude, enthusiastic and upbeat personality
First Aid/CPR Certificates
Valid Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Search

Reporting Requirement:  Reports to the Youth Program Team Leader
