About the role:
This position will report directly to the supervisor, acting as the caretaker and maintenance personnel for rental properties.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Being on call on some evenings and weekends and for emergencies
Being very available
Following a calendar of scheduled service calls, repair and maintenance duties
Regular scheduled maintenance checkups
Manage tenant maintenance requests including proper follow up to ensure satisfaction and completion
Schedule all cleaning and repair of turnover suites
Receive supplies and sending paperwork to the head office
Inspection of buildings and vacant suites to report on any deficiencies and maintenance requests
Attend weekly meetings, work with utility companies, phone companies and contractors for entering the properties for their work
Examples of repairs:
- Replacing seals/seats on leaking tub and sink taps.
- Replacing shower heads and hoses
- Replacing tub spouts.
- Repairing toilets. Replacing fill valves, flappers, and toilet seats.
- Adjustment of doors, door strikes.
The individual will also be required to commit to being on call to answer paragon service calls. Some evening and weekend work may be necessary.
Qualifications:
Experience in/Knowledge of the maintenance, caretaking, hands-on skills, property repairs and minor renovations is REQUIRED.
Prior Property Management experience is an asset
Above average problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Must possess a valid drivers license and have a reliable vehicle
