The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan invites outstanding candidates to submit an application for a tenure-track Research Chair in Bioprocess Engineering at the Associate Professor level.
The chair will hold a 75% appointment with the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering and a 25% appointment with the Department of Food and Bioproduct Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Bioresources. Primarily, the chair will maximize economic returns to Saskatchewans agriculture industry by increasing the total value derived from crop production, with a focus on generating new, commercially-viable products from grains and oilseeds and under-utilized residual bio-materials. Teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be required, but at a reduced rate of 10% commitment. The Chair will be strongly encouraged to develop and teach higher level undergraduate (300, 400 level) and graduate courses (800 level) in the field of biomaterials processing/engineering.
The successful candidate must hold a Bachelors degree and Ph.D. in Agricultural/Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or another closely related field. Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Saskatchewan is required. The ideal candidate will be a nationally or internationally recognized researcher working in areas as indicated above.
