The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is the national synchrotron research facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon. This facility produces high intensity synchrotron light to explore the nature and structure of molecules and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.
CLSI is now accepting applications for Controls System Analysts, Controls & Instrumentation Development, two year term with the possibility of extension or being made permanent. This role and its activities are project driven and vary over time, providing an excellent opportunity for a wide variety of experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design of control system software and data acquisition
Support database systems and tools used in development and maintenance
Co-ordinate with Technical Support in deployment of systems
Support Controls System commissioning activities
Develop documentation necessary to support operations
Other duties as assigned, based on project specifications and organizational need
Qualifications:
A bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering Physics
5+ years software development knowledge/experience C/C++
Experience Considered an Asset:
Development of control or data acquisition systems
SQL
Java (JEE or Eclipse)
EPICS SCADA platform experience
Skills:
Time management with competing priorities and project lifecycle completion
Interpersonal communication
Problem solving and decision making in accordance with policies, procedures, and guidelines
