This position is responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors. The safety co-ordinator will provide safety expertise and support by identifying health and safety risks and implementing controls to eliminate or mitigate these risks. This position will develop, recommend, facilitate, oversee, and implement safety policies, procedures, practices and training to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, rules and regulations.
The successful candidate will hold an OH&S Certificate along with a valid Class 5 license. You must be willing and able to travel when required (with possibility of overnight stays). Experience in leading safety meetings, facilitating training, developing documents, performing inspections and conducting audits is an important component of the position. Exposure to the power line industry is an asset. Your exceptional communication and organizational skills, along with your computer knowledge will be key to your success.
