Description

DUTIES:
Water Distribution operations.
Unidirectional flushing
Inspections of water main line valves and hydrants
Inspections, repairs, and installs of Industrial, commercial, and residential water meters.
Inspections, repairs, and installs of water meter radio MXU.
Inspections of the Raw Water transmission line and repairs of its combination valves and fittings.
Locating and repairs curb stops
Fire hydrant maintenance and repairs.
Assisting with Hydro excavating for Water distribution repairs
Shutting down, flushing, and disinfecting water mains.
Identifying and process problems and taking necessary corrective action.
Documentation of all water maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Participate in the City of Lloydminsters Safety Management System
Position may involve on-call, shift work and the assignment of alternate duties on occasion.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A minimum Grade 12 education is required.  Post-secondary education, from an accredited institute in the field of water distribution/treatment, is considered an asset.  Previous experience is not required; on-the-job training will be provided.  In order to advance beyond the entry level of this position, the Distribution & Collection Operator will have the opportunity to upgrade qualifications and become certified, during the course of employment.
Valid Class 5 Vehicle Operators License registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan with a clean driving record.  To be provided at time of interview.  
Communicate effectively with Supervisors and operators on the appropriate technical level.
Positive attitude with great identification and resolution skills
Basic mechanical knowledge.
Work conditions and physical capabilities; fast paced environment, physically demanding, standing for long period of times. Position consists of manual labor, must be able to lift up to 25kg (50 pounds).
