Applications are now being accepted for the above position. This position is under the direct supervision of the Roadways & Equipment Foremen. Hours of work may change (but are not limited to) depending on the time of year as determined by the Foremen. The required amount of shift change notice will be given.
Duties and Responsibilities
Report to and take direction from the Roadways & Equipment Foremen.
Ability to operate a minimum of 4 pcs of City heavy equipment such as; vacuum truck, backhoe, loader, grader, street sweeper and trucks. Ongoing training will be provided.
Service equipment daily.
Complete service logs daily.
Assist in maintenance and repair of City equipment.
Follow Occupational Health & Safety and other City policies.
Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Grade XII or equivalent related experience as deemed acceptable by the City.
Must have a valid, Saskatchewan Drivers Class 3A Licence (min) along with a clean drivers abstract.
Preference may be given for Firemans Certificate (Boiler Papers).
Knowledge and experience with operating heavy-duty equipment is required.
Knowledge and experience of road patching & concrete work is an asset.
Able to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
Able to maintain effective, co-operative relations with staff and the general public.
Must be able to do heavy physical labour.
