QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a person who has the ability to work alone/independently and as part of a team; demonstrates respect for all clients and co-workers as well as their decisions and choices; who sets effective limits in performing duties; who works to empower youth; who can provide clear information, education, boundaries, safety and access to resources; who knows how to care for themselves appropriately; and who is a healthy role model for youth, as well as the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Participate, plan and supervise structured activities for children
-Supervision of children during all daily activities i.e.-meals, sleep bedtime, etc:
-Assist with household and yard management-cooking meals, cleaning, washing, etc:
-Coordinate facilitation of in-house programming
-Apply crisis/suicide intervention skills as needed
-Be part of a support team for children and youth and take an active role along with the Regional Caseworker, and others to follow the case plan as well as provide structure, guidance, validation and a home-like , safe environment
-Responsible to listen, support, validate and document all interaction with each client on a daily basis
-Ensure safety, security and protection of the residents and facility by following Policy and Procedure
-Maintain strict confidentiality for Sunshine operations and the residents
-Provide transportation to appointments, recreation activities and other situations as required
-Keep an accurate logbook of Sunshine activities
-Participate in orientation of new staff, volunteers, students and work placements
-Maintain a high standard of health and safety procedures.
-Other related duties as may be required from time to time
-All employees must provide a clean Criminal record Check, and Child Abuse Record check
