The Adult Basic Education Manager is an in-scope position reporting to the Director of Programs. The incumbent is responsible for the coordination, development, implementation and monitoring of the Basic Education (Credit and Non-Credit) programming throughout the College region as well as overseeing the development, delivery and monitoring of English as a Second Language (ESL) training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Drivers License and be willing to travel on occasion. Most travel is within the geographical area, with few overnight stays necessary. Some provincial travel is required.
- Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to Carlton Trail College.
EDUCATION
The minimum relevant knowledge or formal training essential to perform the functions of this position is a relevant bachelors degree. A Bachelor of Education degree and a valid Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate are preferable. This education would typically provide knowledge in program development and planning, budgeting, adult education, educational theory, educational curriculum content, proposal writing, analytical and critical thinking and research skills.
EXPERIENCE
The amount of practical related experience is greater than two years. This experience would typically provide skills required to negotiate with partners, deal with sensitive situations, skills in time management, supervision, leadership and budgeting as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
